I went down to Old Joe's bar room Down on the corner by the sqaure She was stretched out on a long white table So cold So sweet So fair I went down to the St. James Infirmary Just to see my baby there She was laid out so nice On a long white table So sweet, so cold, so blue So fair So I said to myself, let her go, let her go, let her go. let her go God Bless her Wherever she...may be She could search this whole world Over and over She'll never find, never find, never find A better man than me (you know that's right) When i die, won't you bury me In a long hard Stetson hat? And pull a twenty dollar gold piece on my watch chain So God'll know I died, standing pat? I want six crap-shooting pall-bearers Pretty girls to sing me a song Put a jazz band on the hearse-wagon To raise hell as we roll along Roll along... Roll along... On the day I met my baby (you can't get what you want) Diamond shoes And gold in her purse Dressed to kill In silks and satins (you can't get what you want) Now they took her away In a hearse So I went back down To that St. James Infirmary Just to see my baby... Layin' there Still stretched out so nice On that long white table So sweet So cold So fair So fair Well now that you have heard my story Give me another shot, oh boy...(gun shot) And if anybody in the world should ask me I got the St. James Infirmary Blues I got the St. James Infirmary Blues I got the St. James Infirmary Blues!

Yeah, what are you so afraid of? The fear of falling, fear of fire? Fear of rejection? Lack of redemption? Or scared of raising God's ire? Well, whatever it is, you're bigger Your fears are smaller than you think And if I seem a little triggered It's 'cause you're standing on the brink And I wanna see the real you Not a face in the window Not a smile that you toss to the crowd And if you need to cry You should cry Don't tamp the tempest down Oh, let your heart cry out! Well, can you heart come out to play? Don't stand in the shadow of the curtain all day Don't you want to feel the sun warm your skin? And you can talk all about Your fears and your doubts And I will still be your friend But I wanna see the real you Not a face in the window Not a smile that you toss to the crowd And if you need to cry You should cry Don't tamp the tempest down Oh, let your heart cry out! (Let it out) Before you let it go (Let it out) The pressure builds, I know (Let it out) It's not the hurt that hurts (Let it out) The broken trust is worse It's so ironic That sometimes we have to hurt ourselves before we feel anything at all And then the fear of dying Shocks us back to life And it's a shame, shame, shame That we don't talk about what's real Put down the knife Pick up the mic Say what you feel Yes, it's a shame, shame, shame That we don't talk about what's real Put down the knife Pick up the mic Say what you feel I wanna see the real you Not a face in the window Not a smile that you toss to the crowd And if you need to cry You should cry Don't tamp the tempest down Oh, let Just let your heart Cry out!

Put a penny in the jar Put a penny in the jar Put a penny in the jar Put a penny in the jar I went into the bar, didn't have to go that far I had a gaffe there on the edge of Wexford Street Collapsing in my seat, I found myself a treat Oh, as a wino made his way Right next to me Hs words were all a-slew, he asked how do you do? He pointed there, to the banjo at my feet Requesting but a bone, if I'd play for him a tune So he could cherish up this memory Why don't you sing to me - a stable harmony? Keep those feet a-movin', jingle down the line And if you play to me a quintessential symphony You might just justify this sinner's wasted time Instrumental Section Many years did happen by, the island it was dry Spent summer playing all the tunes upon the street Busking out a bitter chord, in the spite of being bored Just sweating buckets from the brutal summer heat When the chorus became wild, I noticed but a child Dancing those patterns on the jagged cobblestone I'd not see her again, with her captivated grin But at least she did not-a have to dance alone Why don't you sing to me - a stable harmony? We could keep those feet a-movin', jingle down the line And if you play to me a quintessential symphony You might just justify this sinner's wasted time Instrumental Section Put a penny in the jar Put a penny in the jar Put a penny in the jar Put a penny in the jar Well, I saw the show, it was in the round I was blown away, purely by the sound Now it's haunting me, but it's nowhere to be found I will never trade all that I can be For a silent life of stable luxury Beggar man, busy bee Show me a life worth livin', naturally Well, well now, I will never trade all that I could be For a silent life of siable luxury Corporate man, council flea I can't stop playing! Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-ahhhhh.... Now that I am old, my story has been told S'pose you could say that I've had quite the ride In pursuit of sound, I've journeyed all around And I have taken all the wear I can abide My voice has given out, I can no longer shout There's a nearly constant ringing right there in my ear And if you sing to me, a soothing melody You might give me the strength to dance once more, my dear Why don't you sing to me - a stable harmony? Keep those feet a-movin', jingle down the line And if you play to me a quintessential symphony You might just justify this sinner's wasted time You might just bring the sight to this blind man one time

It's good to be King But I don't know a thing about it It's good to have bread, but it goes straight to my head It's good to find out what you're mad of when you're Down and out, do you Scream and shout? Or get on with it? Well, it's good to believe in something more than you are It's good to behave in a way that makes your Grandma smile It's good to have friends, don't let 'em drag you Down again, buck the Current trend And get on with it I don't believe in Long, long, sad goodbyes I don't believe that I Need a reason why Jus a-get on with it Well, It's good to be King But I don't know a thing about it It's good to have bread, but it goes straight to my head It's good to find out what you're mad of when you're Down and out, do you Scream and shout? Or get on with it? Get on with it Get on with it That's right...

Smoke is rising overland Chimney, hearth and bed at hand Home is there, and there she stands Lady waiting on her man Waiting by an open door In time of peace and time of war Waited there almost a score Lovely lady, wait no more Well, one more step I can't go on I am far too woebegone! Every path is overlong for my feet to carry me around Lady, lay me, lay me down Lovely lady, lay me down Sixteen years have left her still On the cottage by the hill Though nothing ventured keeps to plan We all have something we demand Does she miss him anymore? Or has she lost what's past the door? The night is right, the tide is thick Time has come to treat or trick Well, one more step I can't go on I am far too woebegone! Every path is overlong for my feet to carry me around Lady, lay me, lay me down Lovely lady, lay me down Instrumental Interlude (Oh, lay me down) Time has passed, the sun will rise In spite of whims or alibis On that morrow I might long Peace long-suffered, meek and strong Afterwards I'll make my peace Recall the night on the lady's fleece Grab my boots, as I rove on Blissfully recalling the lady's song Well, one more step I can't go on I am far too woebegone! Every path is overlong for my feet to carry me around Lady, lay me, lay me down Lovely lady, lay me down Instrumental Interlude (Oh, lay me down)

It's the sound of wonder I'm alive It's the magic in the moment I survived What if I get my wish? And what if I am blinded by it? Frozen beneath my feet Bound for glory be Bitter cold, but sweet Left the path behind Just to find Unbroken Snow Unbroken Snow It's the sound of thunder In the night Lightning flashes Splits the sky What if I lose my way? And what if I want it that way? It's frozen beneath my feet Bound for glory be Bitter cold, but sweet I left the path behind Just to find Unbroken Snow Unbroken Snow Unbroken Snow (that's right) Stars fall from the sky Making such a show Cool, oh cool their fire In the Unbroken Snow It's the sound of wonder In the night The lightning flashes Splits the sky What if I get my wish? And what if I am blinded by it? It's so frozen beneath my feet Bound for glory be Bitter cold, but sweet I left the path behind Just to find Unbroken Snow Unbroken Snow Unbroken Snow-oh-oh (scream)

I like the enthusiasm she got She's a little crazy That girl is definitely over-the-top Little bit insane They blew her up, then they blew her off Now she's got their number She'll take 'em down with a keagle-drop Make 'em feel some pain She's a lot like She's a lot like Me... Oh, that is why I am Ghosting myself She looks away if I hold Perfectly still She's got my sympathy, but I don't want to lose my mind Like the last time I like the way that she puts on a show Channeling the crazy A shot or two and she's good to go Loosens up her brain I wanna see how far she'll go Was she once a shy girl? From Mendicino down to Mexico Plays a wicked game She's a lot like She's a lot like Me... Oh, that is why I am Ghosting myself She looks away if I hold Perfectly still She's got my sympathy, but I don't want to lose my mind Like the last time Instrumental She's a lot like She's a lot like Me... Oh, that is why I am Ghosting myself She looks away if I hold Perfectly still She's got my sympathy, but I don't want to lose my mind Like the last time... Like the last time!

about

The title track Unbroken Snow was conceived and co-written by Paulter Kimball and Buddy Akin. The lyric attempts to catch the nervous excitement inherent in taking bold, creative steps forward into the unknown, leaving the familiar path behind and heading out across untrodden snow. What if I lose my way? What if I want it that way?

Because Creosote is a power duo live, we used this riff-based song as a template for the songs that followed, allowing the arrangements to expand a bit on record, but still able to be performed in a hard-hitting way by 2 people in a live setting. Listen to the album, then come see a show and tell us how we did!
